Triangle Garden

A small space making a big difference

From corner to community garden

The Triangle started as a tired patch near the entrance. Volunteers cleared the area, prepared beds, and created a simple layout with paths and seating so everyone can enjoy the space. It now sits alongside the wildlife pond, giving the park a calm, colourful focus all year round.

What we’ve done

  • Seasonal planting of pollinator-friendly perennials, bulbs and herbs

  • Defined paths & edging for easy access and tidier borders

  • New seating for a breather and a better view of the pond

  • Mulch & soil improvement to help plants establish and cut down weeding

  • Regular care on Wednesdays — watering, pruning and litter-picks

Why it matters

  • Nature & biodiversity: nectar through the seasons for bees and butterflies

  • Wellbeing: a peaceful place to meet, sit, and watch the water

  • Pride in place: cared-for corners lift the whole park and encourage respect

  • Learning: a simple spot for school visits and mini gardening demos

What’s next

  • Add more native plants for texture and colour across the seasons

  • Install a small interpretation panel about the garden and pond life

  • Trial mini planting sessions for families at events

How you can help

  • Volunteer Wednesdays (most weeks, 9.00–12.30): no experience needed; tools provided

  • Donate plants/materials: perennials, bulbs, peat-free compost, mulch, edging

  • Sponsor a bed or season: we’ll thank you on our channels and at events.
